The 6 Red World Championships has grown out of our desire to host a world class snooker event in the INEC, Killarney, Ireland’s home of snooker which has been the host off the All Ireland Championships for over 20 years . 

6 Red Snooker is a relatively new concept in Europe but has a long history in Asia with the Sangsom sponsored event in Thailand bringing the exciting concept to the attention of the European and Professional Ranks. 

The format includes only 6 red balls in place of the traditional 15 reds and frames last on average only 7-8 minutes at professional level making it a fast and exciting format. 

The field of 130 players from both the Professional and Amatuer ranks will battle it out over four days for the chance to become the 2009 6 Red World Champion and you could be there, competing alongside your sporting hero's this December.
